Thryv, a do-it-all small business software to help small businesses has acquired Keap. Thryv is a 3,000 person $1,2 Billion dollar company providing a suite of service to help its customers scheduling and appointments, CRM, estimations and invoices, reviews, social media management and more. Keap has generated about $80 million in sales the past year and will be acquired for about the same amount.
Keap, formerly Infusionsoft, is a CRM provider based in Chandler, Arizona, co-founded by two brothers – Scott and Eric Martineau, in 2001.
Clate Mask was brought on early on to help grow the company. Over its 23 years in business, Keap has pivoted and adjusted. It had a big rebranding from Infusionsoft to Keap in 2019.
As Infusionsoft, Keap was a longtime leader in the early market of marketing automation software and powered the marketing needs of early and well-known marketers such as Brendon Burchard.
With it’s rebrand to Keap, it sought to clarify its position in the market as an all in one marketing suite for small business owners.
With the purchase by Thryv, I suspect the Keap brand will eventually be fully integrated into the Thryv family.
What does Thryv gain from its purchase of Keap?
- Partner ecosystem to help sell more Thryv to small business owners
- Transition Keap customers to Thryv
- Lower costs by integrating customer support with better economies of scale
- Leverage keeps database of potential customers and leads to grow Thryv further
- Integrate the best of Keap with Thryv to make a software company with a stronger offer for SMBs
