Haskell D. (Danny) Portee
Haskell D. (Danny) Portee – President and CEO of Professional Management Enterprises (PME) and WellTrans, Inc., has built an illustrious career marked by military service and entrepreneurship. Retiring from the United States Army after more than 20 years, he founded PME in 2006 and later established WellTrans, Inc. in 2020 in order to better connect low-income Hoosiers with non-emergency medical transportation services. A committed community activist and advocate, Danny leads his PME team with an approach focused on “team spirit” and one that emphasizes deep community engagement. His contributions to business and community service have been widely recognized, earning him accolades such as the 2024 William G. Mays Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award, the 2023 Indiana SBA Business Person of the Year, and the 2022 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden.
